About The Event

About The Event

Indian Banks’ Association proudly announces the 15th Annual edition of Banking Technology Conference, Expo and Awards.

This landmark event is billed as the largest and the most important meeting place for senior most bankers, business leaders and technology professionals. The 2020 edition presents an array of distinguished bankers and regulatory authorities, technology influencers, and evangelists from leading global conglomerates to interact, partner and grow.

Technology Conference & Expo

Anywhere Banking emanates from the fact that today banking services are more mobile than ever. People expect to bank at their convenience and not vice-versa. Hence, banking models, underlying architectures, and interoperability standards are evolving to meet this changing consumer need. This has given rise to newer genes of APIs, customization mechanisms, data-driven decision-making, and better revenue models. The current size of the Indian economy is $2.7 Trillion and majority of the push for India to rise up to being a $5 Trillion economy is needed from individual states. Structural reforms are essential across sectors to help India achieve this goal and one of the key sectors playing a part would be Banking and the emergence of banking anywhere would complement the needed reforms in this sector.

The Conference Agenda will be both - comprehensive and futuristic. The agenda will encompass critical areas such as Anywhere Banking, Fintechs, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Data Analytics, Security and Compliance, Risk Assessment, Regulatory Framework, Cyber Frauds etc.

A day long Exposition (trade show floor) featuring advanced banking technologies, products and services will be showcased by leading Indian and global banking technology players. This exposition will not only complement the overall agenda of the day, but will also provide the perfect platform for networking and business matching.

IBA High Power CEO Panel Discussion
“India as a 5 Trillion Dollar Economy and the challenging role of Indian Banks in making it happen”

In 2019, India has become a $2.7 trillion economy, having added One Trillion US Dollars in the last 5 years. However, to become a $5 trillion economy, India's GDP needs to go faster than what we grew at an average of 7.5% in the last 5 years. Inflation would need to be capped at 4% to ensure commensurate increase in purchasing power. A sharing economy (currently on the rise) will help achieve this alongside a robust financial market infrastructure with reduced market volatility. This tectonic shift towards shared economies has also given rise to 4 key trends in banking: peer-to-peer lending, crowdfunding, social payments, and micropayments – all of which are positively contributing to the purchasing power increase and development of underlying market infrastructures. As India treads towards this ambition of a $5 Trillion Economy, the panel will discuss how the Banking Ecosystem will support and contribute this ambition.
